I'm a new fiction author and have found this medium a wonderful way to weave my passions into storytelling. The Dying Five is a tale about living while dying, and that the end-of-life can be about humor, love, friendship, and solving a mystery. If you read it, I'd love to hear from you.
I am a suicidologist, which means that I study suicide and ways to prevent it. I fully believe that it takes a community approach to ending suicide- with family, friends, neighbors, and aware citizens ready to support those who are struggling.
I am the clinical principal investigator for Clarigent Health, a tech startup that uses natural language processing (a form of machine learning/AI) to identify suicide risk through vocal biomarkers.
Over the last few years, I have been drawn to reading and studying in the area of death care and death positivity. This movement reflects on what it means to have a good life through the lens of a good death.
This may be a confusing intersection of concepts- suicide and death positivity, but to me it's absolutely clear. I say more about this in my blog.

I am conducting interviews with LGBTQIA+ adults and death care providers to understand the barriers and solutions to equitable and accessible death care for the LGBTQIA+ community. The interviews will take approximately 60 minutes. Your responses are confidential, and you will receive a gift card for your time. Please reach out if you're interested!
